Speaker Bio

Hannah has been working as a Social Worker for the past decade across a range of settings including NSW Health, Public Guardian of NSW and in the community sector. She is a proud member of the LGBTIQ+ community and is dedicated to improving the health outcomes of all LGBTIQ+ people. Hannah believes that patient-centered palliative care must include an understanding of diversity and intersectionality. Hannah is currently coordinating a National Palliative care project with LGBTIQ+ Health Australia, funded by the Department of Health.

Session Overview

Hannah will be providing an overview of the barriers that LGBTIQ+ people experience when they access palliative care services. She will also provide information on the skills and knowledge required to create safe, respectful, and inclusive spaces for LGBTIQ+ people.

Resources will be provided a few weeks prior to the speaker session.
